Transformation Process into a Social Enterprise

In 2022, Stem van Afrika supports the transformation of Mama FM into a Social Enterprise, including the involvement of a “change manager” who will monitor and guide the process for a period of six months.

The decision for this transformation is based on the participatory development of a business plan/strategic plan for Mama FM, implemented in 2021. The respective process was also financially assisted by Stem van Afrika and identified various recommendations (e.g. strenghten the marekting department/diversify revenue streams, invest in technlogy, invest in skilled staff, need to stick to organisational mandate, increase visibility (social media platforms), intensify partnerships and collaborations, review/re-invent/diversify programming, boost radio signal; brand positioning; redesign studio; strucutural reformation of leadership; establishment of resource centre).
